Rajmudra Architects was engaged for the landscape development of Sai Pearl, a large-scale residential township located in Pimple Saudagar, Pune. Spread across approximately 7 acres and comprising 20 residential towers with over 680 residential units, the project required the creation of a vibrant and functional central landscape that would serve as the heart of the development and be visually appreciated from all surrounding buildings.
One of the key design challenges was that the entire landscape precinct was centrally positioned within the residential complex and overlooked by multiple residential towers. The landscape was therefore conceived not only as a recreational space for residents but also as a visually attractive centerpiece that enhances the overall identity and living experience of the township.
Design Approach
- Developing a comprehensive landscape master plan that transforms the central open space into a dynamic recreational and social hub for residents of all age groups
- Designing a resort-style swimming pool area that serves as a major recreational attraction and visual focal point within the development
- Creating a dedicated children’s play area with sand flooring to provide a safe and enjoyable environment while introducing a unique beach-inspired experience within the residential township
- Incorporating outdoor fitness and gym facilities that encourage healthy lifestyles and active community engagement
- Designing attractive pagoda structures and open seating areas that offer residents comfortable spaces for relaxation, interaction, and leisure activities
- Developing jogging tracks and pedestrian walkways that promote outdoor movement and connect various activity zones throughout the landscape
- Creating expansive lawn areas that provide visual openness and accommodate informal recreation, gatherings, and community activities
- Enhancing the landscape through carefully planned plantation consisting of ornamental trees, shrubs, and seasonal greenery to enrich the visual character of the development
- Establishing community interaction spaces that foster social engagement and strengthen the sense of neighborhood within the township
- Utilizing plantation along open spaces and project boundaries to improve environmental quality, provide visual screening, and create a pleasant living environment
Special emphasis was placed on creating a landscape that functions equally well as an active recreational destination and as a visually appealing green centerpiece viewed from the surrounding residential towers. The thoughtful arrangement of activity zones, open spaces, water features, and plantation ensures a balanced and engaging environment throughout the development.
The completed landscape design significantly enhances the quality of life within Sai Pearl by providing residents with a wide range of recreational amenities and attractive outdoor spaces. The project successfully demonstrates how landscape architecture can transform a residential township into a vibrant, community-oriented environment that promotes wellness, interaction, and a strong connection with nature.
